Let's get ready for the #Wikimedia fundraiser III

On every #Wikipedia there will be an appeal for the public to support the important work we do globally. Looking for donations by living people is key, there are lots of them and it is another way of involving them in the well being of a service they enjoy.

There is a traditional discrepancy between the donations received from the United States and the donations from the rest of the world. It is important to raise involvement in the rest of the world not only financially but also practically.

There is no group photo of Wikimedia's staff

The Wikimedia staff have a rich multi cultural background. Some learned their German, French, Dutch, Hindi on their mother's knee while others learned languages like Greek, Spanish or Hawaiian in school. My bet is that when the staff ensures that the two extensions are localised in their language, it will more then offset the cost of their wages. Another benefit will be that they will learn to appreciate translatewiki.net and its community even more.
Thanks,
